The annotation to any of Robert Saakyants’ films can begin with a quote from Yuri Norshteyn: “Watching Saakyants’ films was a joy. How can his work be characterized? Perhaps only this way – a serious, wild sense of humor.” However, humor in his films is not an end in itself. For him, grotesque is a means of posing serious problems. As F. M. Khitruk said about him, “Robert has a film whose very title characterizes his entire work: “Who will tell a tale.” He really tells us stories full of transformations and incredible situations, behind which real problems of today are clearly visible. Which is precisely the main strength of animation art.
